World's 10 Tallest Skyscrapers
What's the point of building skyscrapers? Would that be to show power? Or is it just the necessity of making more money from just one building? It definitely costs more to be build. Perhaps it's that they want to be closer to god and heaven but in reality this type of construction, the skyscrapers, has become a trend. With powerful structures in forms that resemble rockets ready to take off, this buildings scrap the sky and simply define some of the skylines of the most important cities of the world.

Those are some cool skyscrapers. Skyscrapers are now seen as a symbol that defined the surrounding areas or even country. It's quite amazing how these buildings stand out from the other national symbols. ^^

To be perfectly honest... Skyscrapers are cool, but they ruin the atmosphere of a city. I much prefer city centres like Paris, Rome, Berlin and Copenhagen.
i agree with you! its much nicer to be a in a city where the light rays reach down to the the streets of the town!
I completely agree. Skyscrapers are cool from a purely architectural viewpoint (literally and philosophically), but nothing can replace the atmosphere of a city centre or neighbourhood.
That being said, Empire State Building FTW!
very cool, those are some monsters!

Great post!! Architecture rules!!!

I really like those skyscrapers because of it's design and size off course. It's cool to see how the size increases with every scraper they build. It's also unbelievable that it's possible to build that high. Take a look at the allmost completed "Burj Dubai" with it's 818 meters height. Where's the limit?
I love how the Burj Dubai, currently the tallest sky scraper in the world, isnt here lol.
these are amazing and very attractive
the tallest one is in dubai!!

The Shanghai Finance Center in China looks like a giant bottle opener - it's awesome! Great post, and I'm really digging the new modifications to the site, great work!
@ Spikespiegel
Paris ! Have seen the Défense district ? All arround the world business districts look the same : skyscrapers and skyscrapers again ... And the fight is almost the same : who have got the tallest and the most expensive one ...
Now they start to do the same in my town : Marseille. So sad !
They spend to much money for this and during this time, lots of people don't know if they could eat something tomorrow !
You do realise that this list will have to be updated when the Burj Dubai and One World Trade opens, at 818 m and 541m respectively? Just saying...
I love the beauty of some of these skyscrapers, in particular, the Petronas twin towers.
My all time favourite will still always remain to be the Chrysler building. I guess it's like a block of flats in comparison to these monsters.
nice !

I am not such a big fan of tall buildings, I can appreciate the engineering, but tall buildings tend to be monolithic.
Great...
I love the Shanghai Word Financial Center...

I was in the bar (cloud 9) in the Jin Mao Tower when I was in China and from there I could see the construction of the Shanghai Word Financial Center. Bare in mind this was about 10-11 in the evening. Nothing ever stops in China!
I took this picture of the scenery:

Why is the CN Tower not on this list? It is 553.33 meters tall. Taller than all the ones listed here.
its a tower not a skyscraper.
if that's the case, then Petronas Towers shouldn't be on the list. lol
the sears tower is so freaking ugly compared to all the new buildings.
man you really missed out dubai tower in the arab emirates. its 818 meters high!!!
i believe Burj Dubai is not here because its still under construction. He said he's only posting the ones that fully constructed and done.
just awesome...
