Last week, they announced at E3, the very next instalment of the game God of War 4. It's pretty exciting and stunned to witness their latest game to a newer console knowingly that the last game was dated from 2010! Aside from this release, we are looking at the work of Rolf Jensen on the web design and UI/UX (a year ago) in collaboration with Real Pie Media and Sony Interactive Entertainment. It's quite a lovely overall design. We are looking at the work from Rolf Jensen who is an independent design director based in New York, USA. Working mainly in art direction, web design and interaction, you should check out his Behance for more of his work. These are some designs I created almost a year ago for Real Pie Media and Sony Interactive Entertainment. I wasnt allowed to put them on display publicly until now, so it's been a while. I've tried to capture the essence of the hyper detailed in-game 3D renders instead of promoting pre-rendered stills with studio post production. Here it goes! Let's take a look at this superb web design and UI/UX project from the mighty folks from Anagrama and their work for Bodyport. They are a San Francisco based start-up dedicated to the development of at-home cardiovascular monitoring technologies at the reach of everyone. The whole UI across the identity and web design has been made to be easy and friendly to follow. I loved the micro-interactions from the header to icons, it's pretty neat. I personally wish there was an additional colour to balance the contrast but that might be just me. Hope you like it! Anagrama is a studio based in Mexico City. They focus their work into branding, graphic design and packaging. We have featured their work before on ABDZ, give it a look! The website's objective aims to educate the user about Bodyport's technological attributes through simple and friendly graphical representations on an informative tour. The identity system manifests around the navigation while the visual breaks and interaction strengthens the content and communication with the user. Happy Monday guys! Let's start it off with a web design & UX project of a store concept named: Formerly Yes. The thinking behind this concept would be both quite aesthetic and easy to use. Indeed, going through the project; the UI is indeed quite minimal accompanied with simple interactions. Lots and lots of negative space so you eyes are focusing on the products nor anything else. Designed by Milk Work where we have featured before with his work on Fran Silvestre Arquitectos. Behind this stunning work, we have Milk Work also known as Sergei Gurov. He's a senior designer and art director based in San Francisco, USA. He really has a distinct style into this web/ui work, you should definitely follow his work on Behance.
Aldo Sessa is a concept art direction, UI/UX and web design project created and shared by Adrián Somoza. Aldo Sessa is a well-known photographer and artist from Argentina. With this concept project Adrian really takes advantage of the beautiful imagery to make a web site that almost feels like a museum exhibition. Super clean and simple it's a great example of web design in my opinion. Aldo Sessa is a multifaceted and complex artist. Like the best storytellers, he takes his pictures to stop scar of time and discover that space is full of unexplored lights and shadows, In Sessa’s each image we find the whole knowledge. His photographs are narration, music and journeys into inner reality. By Tomas Eloy Martinez. You can check out Aldo Sessa's books on Amazon here. Let's take a look at this project about Web Design & UI/UX by Kamila Figura on her work of a hotel & spa named New Wave. I really loved her colour palette throughout this whole project, it does bring a theme of relaxation and pleasant stay. From the UI/UX site of things, I am loving the direction but personally not to keen about the treatment on the submenu (on desktop) where there's too much negative space. Overall, it's looking great and her photography direction is just top-notch! Via Behance, we are showing the work of Kamila Figura who is a digital product designer based in Katowice, Poland. A mixture of UI/UX, branding, web design and graphic design are part of her wide range of skills. You should definitely check out her Dribbble. Nokia OZO is a web design, interaction design and UI/UX project shared by Viktor Vörös on his Behance profile. OZO is a virtual reality camera, the first of its kind and of course it looks extremely futuristic and the work that Viktor did an excellent job showcasing it on a beautifully simple and elegant web site. The cool thing about his design is that the camera is always on the first plane and everything looks secondary in a way. The images of the camera always pop and the low contrast text and black and white theme help with that quite a lot. Enough of descriptions, check it out after the break and let us know what you think. The world’s first professional Virtual Reality camera. We would like to share this web design project by Minjae Baek entitled: Team “Named”. There isn’t much information about what it is entirely about but the mixture of personal work/unsplash into his layout suddenly makes everything different and out of this world. I gotta love his visual approach, somehow the layout kind of reminds me of Abduzeedo’s. Published on Behance is the work from Minjae Baek who is a designer and artist based in Seoul, Korea. Working as a senior designer at the Creamunion, you can definitely see how diverse is his work from graphic design to UI/UX. I look forward to see more of him in the future. One Letter One Song is a web design, UI/UX and art direction project shared by Aykut Yilmaz on his Behance profile. There is not a lot of information about this project on the page but I assume it's a game about music skills where you have to figure out the title of the song by know the first letter? Am I completely wrong? Anyways the visual design is bold, colorful and in a way a bit unique. The iconography is also beautiful with very thick strokes. There are some new trends in place like the very long shadow on the browse page, and they look quite wonderful. Take a look after the break and let us know what you think. Aykut Yilmaz is a freelance senior art director from Istanbul, Turkey. For more information make sure to check out his profile at https://www.behance.net/aykutyilmaz Web design
The Journal concept is a web design, UI/UX and graphic design project shared by Bohdan Kononets and Slava Kornilov on their Behance profile. As the name suggests, it's a concept project for a journal or a blog if you prefer. There are so many good things about this project, in particular the detail pages. The little colored frame for content gives it a nice editorial style, of course there might be some issues like the images overlaying the borders. Anyways, it's a great project and definitely inspired me for the next batch of changes on the Abduzeedo design. Bohdan Kononets and Slava Kornilov are the designers and founders of Flat Studio, a team with full range of services. They have worked on projects for Google, Microsoft, Tesla, Rambler, Novo Banco, Continente, Uplabs and Cleverdo. Lux Capital is a web site redesign project shared by Christopher Reath on his Behance profile. This web design effort is an excellent example of graphic design and UI/UX done properly, at least in my opinion. You guys might already know how much I appreciate simple black and white themes for UI and Lux Capital has a lot of that, with a pop of color with the accent red color. The website was designed to be screen agnostic, so that anyone was able to experience the site regardless of their device or screen size. Typography wise, the site features a bold, Swiss style with Brown and Aktiv Grotesk for the typefaces. Femme is an art direction, web design and UI/UX project shared by Ruslan Siiz on his Behance profile. What can I say about this project besides it's awesome. I love the different variations of the layout with grid of images, sometimes in Pinterest style and others in a much more magazine/editorial look. As web design goes, I believe this project features all the major trends in web design. The detail pages are gorgeous, including some split screen designs, another very hot trend right now. Anyways, I am taking so much notes for some refinements I want to add to ABDZ this year. So check out the Femme project and let us know what you think. Femme exists as a global luxury, life and style directory. Developed to stimulate, inform and entertain readers with a wide spectrum of topics from high fashion and film to music and art. Squarespace Re-Design is a web design and art direction project shared by Peter Bagi on his Behance profile. I have been a fan of Squarespace pretty much since they started. I thought about moving ABDZ to their service, however it's not an easy task, even though it's still in my plans. Back to the project, the new design follows the simplicity and the black and white theme that have become almost their signature. There's much more to love and I feel that they achieves something extraordinary with less imagery and much more typography. The project was broken up into different phases. Concepting, wireframing/UX, design iterations, prototyping with Principle and finally full development. My role was to create sub features pages along with helping support the design leads on the main page design. The main page web design features some quite elegant solutions for footer and an interesting grid system with two columns but with different widths apparently. It's an smart solution to create a look that feels more editorial. Another signature component of their brand was preserved, the Gotham font for titles, headings and links. They use Gothan always in all caps. Another detail that I quite like the the letter-spacing or kerning. Much wider, which gives a even more modern look. Anyways, take a look at some of the screenshots below. Web Design About Squarespace Squarespace makes beautiful products to help people with creative ideas succeed. Trello Atlassian is a UI Design concept project for the redesign of the popular service Trello. It was originally shared by the Netguru Team and it's an extensive exercise on how to improve a tool that their team use daily. They also got motivated by Atlassian's acquisition of Trello and that motivated them to think about a complete visual refresh of the product and try to make a little bit "slicker" - as they mentioned. We are well aware that a comprehensive redesign would be based on a host of different factors: business objectives, user needs defined as a result of data analysis, and so on. We were not aiming at a total overhaul of Trello – we focused exclusively on Trello's visual experience, bearing in mind all the limitations of such approach. The project was created by Anna Klawikowska, Michal Parulski and Serge Soskowiec. They are designers from Poland and part of the Netguru Team. Their work range from graphic design, typography and UI Design. I highly recommend you to check out their Behance profiles for the complete portfolio. There's really inspiring work. UI Design A Trello board is a list of lists, filled with cards, used by you and your team. It’s a lot more than that, though. Trello has everything you need to organize projects of any size. It works in real-time. When somebody moves a card, it moves on your board instantly, no matter what device you use. You can keep your tab open all day and never have to refresh. Plus, Trello opens and loads so fast you won’t even notice. - via Trello.com
Schüco is a website redesign and UI/UX project created and shared by Alexey Ivanov. There's a lot to love on this project, from the minimal approach with big and bold typography to the beautiful imagery that they used. I am a fan of architecture so the photos and the type of layout works incredibly well in my opinion, take a look after the break. In the last couple of weeks, i visited the site Schüco, and realized that this company’s website is outdated and requires a redesign. The site should follow the new visual identity of the web redesign concept: minimal, fresh, user-friendly. The analysis was made to make key changes such as: Improve site navigation, Freshen the look, Introduce new interactive features to the site, Correct structure of the site, Fix the technical components of the site. Website Redesign About the designer Alexey Ivanov is a designer from Fargo, North Dakota in the US. He has over 5 years of experience in web design and likes to create stylish & creative web and graphic design projects
Listener's Playlist is a product design project shared by Anzi. It started on Facebook as a group where friends would share their favorite music. It evolved to a complete app that uses SoundCloud API. There's also a lot to love in terms of design, very minimal and simple with huge focus on the content. In addition, I could highlight the bold typography. It's quite elegant and despite the fact I don't like the hamburger menu, the design of that screen is quite beautiful. Another detail that adds a lot of value is the sound waves animation that divides the content. It was quite clever and adds those little moments of delight that captivates user's attention.
