Today the Pixelmator Team released Pixelmator 2.2, a major update of one of my favorite apps out there. This new version codenamed Blueberry has some amazing new features. Pixelmator now has a powerful vector tool, new text features, shape styles and of course really cool light leak effects. I've been playing with Pixelmator for years and I am really excited with this new version.
Futuristic Photo Manipulations by Retoka
I haven't posted about photo manipulation in a white, I have been quite focused on editorial and branding more because of the style, however I am a fan of digital illustration. I also used to love spending my weekends mixing photos to create what I wanted and that's what Ankur Patar did for Adobe Stock - Lost Masterpiece - Rembrandt. He simply recreated one of Rembrandt's masterpieces that was stolen titled "Storm on the Sea of Galilee". It's a classic Baroque piece, with that contrast of light and dark good and evil that the movement usually explored.
Alberto Seveso never ceases to impress us. I remember back in 2005/2006 when he shocked everyone with his style called “sperm shaping.” We featured an interview with him almost 4 years go here on Abduzeedo where he talks a little bit more about that. After that he became a super recognize illustrator and designer with worked feature in popular magazines and in the Adobe Photoshop CS6 launch.
Our friends from the Lightfarm Studios keep delivering really cool photo-manipulations, this time they released a project titled Letters Can Kill for Mitsubishi. The project consists of a series of letters designed to look like faces of people, in this case bad people like Hitler, Saddam Hussein and others.
