3D for Microsoft Teams Summit

Matt Jacobs shared a beautiful 3D project he created for Microsoft Teams for the Microsoft Teams Summit. Mat was also super generous with us and shared some details about the work including the brief, challenge and idea behind the project.

The brief

The pandemic in Europe has led to an increase in remote working. To assist with the transition of working from home, Microsoft organised a 3-day virtual event dedicated to educating customers on new features in Microsoft teams, functionalities that they may not be aware of and best practices for the workplace.

The challenge

Our challenge was to create a bold, thumb-stopping visual language that drives awareness to the online event and contributes to views on demand.

The idea

The key themes of the event were connecting people and driving productivity. To bring the idea of “Do more together” to life, we created a teaser film showcasing unfolding abstract forms that manifest and reveal itself as the Microsoft Teams icon.

Inspired by the connected links of a concertina, the silhouettes and unfolding layers symbolise seamless connectivity and the all-in-one functionality in Microsoft Teams that allows you to do more together.
