In their words
Beyond an eCommerce site, Autotype is a community built by designers, for designers. We search high and low to identify true industry leaders who are pushing boundaries and are pursuing new frontiers for design to flourish; in that pursuit, Modernica was a natural fit,” comments Autotype Co-Founder Derek Galkin. “We greatly respect Modernica’s approach to design, and we consider ourselves very privileged to partner with them on this campaign to support future creatives in advancing that pursuit.

About Modernica
Since 1999, Modernica has steadfastly produced furniture as it was originally created, preserving fiberglass chair legacy and craft. Modernica creates chair shells, by hand, in Los Angeles just as they had been designed, developed, and produced in Southern California in the 1950s. Using only original presses and specialized equipment, this ensures the authenticity of production that the same team employed over sixty years ago to develop the original technology. Today, historic equipment has created thousands of chairs for three generations of chair lovers.
About Autotype
Imagination propels us forward. It envisions profound futures. It captivates, compels, and at times, it even terrifies us. This is the playground of artists, innovators, and creatives. Designers bring this imagination to life: they relentlessly provoke, plan, and perfect in order to craft something functional and timeless. They influence what we wear, what we drive, and how we live, font by font, product by product, and detail by painstaking detail. At Autotype, co-founders Derek Galkin and Tu Pham share in this pursuit. The company’s aim is to create an inclusive space for designers to entertain the impossible, with support from a community of advocates who value great design.
