Graphic Design: Adobe Light and Shadow Explorations
After a long time of flat design with solid colors it's always good to share something different. Adobe and their Instagram account are exploring Light & Shadow in graphic design.

It's been a long time since the last time I wrote Photoshop tutorials. A lot of things have happened as I probably mentioned in the past. Right now there are tons of sites with Photoshop tutorials and they all share tons of content so I started to feel it wasn't necessary for me to keep doing.
Creatures 2 is a graphic design project that consists of a compilation of recent personal illustrations about creatures and coats of arms guardians. Created by Ivan Belikov these illustrations have a striking style with a lot of movement and details. The fur is a great example.
I Lift My Lamp Beside the Golden Door is an illustration created by Jennifer Hom. She was very kind to share with us a little bit of her illustration process from the main goal of the project, to sketches to the final design. It's always wonderful to see that step by step, especially from an incredible illustrator like Jennifer.
We've seen some great gadgets and equipment for designers. So many cool stuff, that we could actually assemble infinite perfect office spaces! Every week we'll assemble a perfect office, and we'd like you to help us. What equipment would the perfect office have?
Prototyping has become a very important part of the UI/UX design process. 80's revival is stronger than ever. With Netflix's Stranger Things we're seeing people going crazy about 80's culture which is shown in the show thru its style and easter eggs. One of the things that set ambience for the show is its logo. I thought it would be cool trying to mimic its style in Photoshop, so let's try it out.
Most of the projects we share area always digital, usually illustrations, editorial design and UI/UX. Sometimes however, we find really cool experiments that cross that line and go beyond, in this case Juan Díaz-Faes created a handmade wooden alphabet for this 36DaysofType contribution.
Last weekend while surfing the web I discovered this image of a classic 80s style logo. I noticed the option to buy the effect, amazed that nowadays we can simply buy something to streamline the process. I love this idea but I also feel that it's important to try to recreate sans short cut in an effort to learn something new.
It is been quite a long time since the last time I posted a tutorial. I haven't for some reason stopped. I used to do this every week, it was part of my routine but little by little I stopped doing. I remember never having too much of a hard time to come up with something but without using it, I definitely lost it. Now I am trying to create a routine again and write a few tutorials per month.

Paper-cuts are a really interesting media, although it might look a pretty flat media at first glance, the layers and details of paper can cast shadows that enhance the artwork, creating depth and visual distortions to the viewers. Max Gärtner is an artist based in Berlin, Germany whose work is extremely detailed and delicate, we had the pleasure to have a little chat with him.
