Celebrating Christmas in July? As far as professional gifting services go, Token’s done a great job building a product around a universal truth: great gifts are tough to find. But when you mix their classic take on elegant packaging & brand that says a whole lot with just a little — well, it’s a gift that keeps on giving. Token popped up in 2015 and has been steadily amassing one of the best collections of quirky, thoughtful gifts I’ve found on the web. Sure, of course there’s Amazon, but staring into the void of their search box three days out from that birthday I forgot is a very specific, very familiar pain for me. Enter The Token Gift Finder. I put in a gender, my relationship with this person, some bits about them, and BAM: Unicorn neon desk light for my cousin. Or a fantastic set of cookies and coffee for Nana. It’s so simple, I’m able to almost forget that I almost forgot somebody’s birthday. And to top it all off, Token hand-wraps their gifts with some truly lovely packaging made right in New York City. The ribbon, box, and interior stuffing all make your present feel exceptionally considered — they’ll even include a handwritten note if you need them to! If I were to nitpick on anything though, as nice as the packaging is, I'm always a little shy about the word "Token" on the box. It's a bit of a giveaway that I used the service. Although, I suppose maybe that's the point (they are a startup, after all!) and it certainly hasn't taken away from the overall experience. It helps that the wordmark is so simple and understated. Also: I love their little token-starburst-hexagon mark. It sums up the whole brand and really nicely for me. It's worth checking out token.vip if you haven’t already, if only for their lovely site & classic 50’s illustration style. See more below.

Cozy Cotton is a branding and package design project shared by Tom Jueris on his Behance profile. The elegance of the design that Tom created is evident by the classic all caps serif with some details in italic. I also really like the script font/handwriting applications. It does give a touch of character and make the whole design feel upscale. Below you can see a bit more about the project. Cozy Cotton is a Korean online shop for home furnishing. Though it began as a small family business, it became quickly "the" shop for western style home furnishing. The retailer specializes in furniture, linens, cooking products, art and other home accessories offered at decent prices. Handmade design is a super sweet style. It gives products that rustic feel and adds a notion of humanity to it... add a slogan like "made by humans to humans" and you're set to go. Peltan-Brosz, a design agency from Budapest came up with package design for Rawganique, a handcrafted products manufacturer based on Canada. Check it out! We were commissioned to create their new visual identity. We made a system that is strict with its logo and font. But like nature itself from where the firm has its most inspiration the identity had to be more opened and closer. That is why in order that the identity is one in every way and reflects the new lifestyle that the firm proclaims we thought of using something personal like handwriting." In handwriting we saw the presence of the personal touch to each product, it gives the impression of a custom made material, it breaks away from commerce and conventional and it is modern. So we devised a custom typeface for Rawganique, that due to modern printing technique we could create more versions of written words on labels. In this way almost all labels differ form one another, because every label set on the offset printing sheet is different from one another in terms of typeface and pattern crop to." Being a student is hard work... you spend hundreds of hours designing and evolving so that you may get to the point where you start doing solid, awesome projects that make you proud. The feeling of being able to design an awesome piece is just priceless. Mun Joo Jane, a young designer from Los Angeles, has designed a fantastic package for a Kellog's cereal. The most awesome part, is that this was a college assignment, student work. If she comes up with something like this being a student, I can't wait to see what she's going to do in the future. About the project: The overview of this project was to come up with a cereal packaging design for adults. We are no longer kids and it is important that our cereal packaging reflects exactly that. The challenge of this project was to neglect the stereotypical cereal box design. I explored many shapes and came up with two ideas. After much dilemma, I decided to push both concepts. The simple solution was to work on both ideas and see how far I can develop them. Special K was chosen for this re-branding project. Being a suitable cereal brand for adults was a key criterion when choosing the brand to work with.” Brands like “Cheerios” and “Trix” strongly caters to the younger population while Special K caters more towards the adult population. Also, I had an urge to change the Special K brand into a unisex design, leading to the creation of a b-line for Special K called “K+”. K plus creates a positive reputation and symbol for this packaging. The positive sign symbolizes good health and better nutrients. These perceptions allow consumers to feel like they are making a good decision by buying this product. The target demographics are ambitious and aspiring young adults in their 20s.” For more of Mun Joo Jane's work, please visit her portfolio at Behance. I hope you enjoy these as much as I did! Cheers. ;)

I love great package design. And lately I've been obsessing with bottles and labels. Every time I go to the supermarket to get beverages, alcoholic or not, I find myself checking out every cool bottle and label I can find. Maybe it is because great package will get your attention or maybe it is just because I like package in general, not sure. I just know that a beautiful bottle/label design certainly stands out, specially if they are seating among average designs. The job of putting together something that will represent the face of a brand is extremely important and I do admire all package designers our there. And besides all that, beautiful package are a great source of type, color scheme, textures and composition inspiration. So check out the selection we have made here today! Wine label designs have always caught my eye and inspired. I think one of the reasons is because the shape of the bottle remains the same while designers must focus on color, style and typography to make their brand visible to the consumer's eye. Domaine Lepovo is a great example of a simple, yet elegant branding work for a premium wine. Domaine Lepovo is a premium Macedonian wine. The specific location of the vineyards create perfect conditions for the production of this high quality wine. The term ‘Domaine’ implies that the overall production process is carried out at the same location where the grapes are grown. Today we are going to review some amazing work for DrNo Effects; a vintage guitar effect pedal company. We are going to take a look at DrNo Effects logo, packaging and the awesome guitar pedals they have. The entire line was designed by the Dutch designer Eric Van Der Boom. Ejoy! Recently I created the logo artwork and packaging design for DrNo Effects, a range of vintage guitar effect pedals. It has been an absolute pleasure to work on this job as I always love to mix graphic design, custom lettering and illustration. This project had all of these elements. I started by doing some rough sketches, and created six different vintage styles, one for each guitar effect. Within each artwork, I tried to reflect the sound and style of the effect. I created custom letters to make every effect unique and special. Finally, I placed the sketches in Illustrator, traced them and added colour. As I'm a guitar player myself I have to say these vintage guitar effects are truly amazing and really take you back in time. But I guess this goes without saying as Alain Johannes of Queens of the Stone Age is one of the many users of DrNo effects. The effects are produced using the best components and materials available, and every stomp box is 100% handmade by DrNo himself. - Eric Van Der Boom For more from Eric visit boomartwork.com
