Video Inspiration #57

Video Inspiration is a weekly(ish) post where we either feature a specific artist or show a sort of "best of" list of videos we've discovered during the week. Everything here may not be brand new, but we felt it worth sharing with the community. If you have good finds that you'd like to share, please feel free to send your links to with "video inspiration" in the subject line. This week I'm featuring some rad videos I've found around the web. Enjoy! La cena from vjsuave on Vimeo. 50 CHARACTERS IN MIAMI from TheSeventhLetter on Vimeo. SINGTANK – NUTHOUSE from FIRMA on Vimeo. Mystery Jets - Dreaming of another world from Yoann Lemoine on Vimeo.

The Awesomeness of Old B Horror Movies

Retro horror movies posters are pretty sweet, and designing them requires much more than just checking references and all that. The best reference to make a killer horror movie poster is to actually watch some old B horror movies! I know that Halloween is gone, but we don't need an excuse to design and watch cool trailers, right? So here I made a selection of some really trashy, retro B horror movies trailers for your delight. I really hope you get the purpose of this: inspire the hell out of you. I hope you can still have a good night of sleep by the end of this post. Cheers! ;p Monster in the Closet (1987) Gorgo (1960) Monster from a Prehistoric Planet (1967) Magic (1978) The Gate (1987) Hell of the Living Dead (1980) The Legend of Hell House (1973) Deranged (1974) The Evil (1978) The House of the Witch (1975) This one is my FAVORITE.

Video of the Week #38

It's awesome to see some superb pieces of indie works. Some time ago we checked on the Big Buck Bunny, a great animated short film... and another one is about to be released: Meet Meline. I gotta confess that it looks pretty wonderful. After two years of intense work on an independent 3D animated short film called "Meet Meline", Virginie GOYONS and Sebastien LABAN made the teaser/trailer to show you a little bit more of the short film. We're proud to present you the 46-seconds-video with the official music of "Meet Meline", composed by Guillaume ROUSSEL! The film is not out yet, so you may check fo information on the website : I bet you'll all enjoy it. Cheers! ;) MEET MELINE (2009) - TRAILER from Sebastien LABAN on Vimeo.

Video of the Week #34

When it comes to cool animated movies, one of the most beautiful and interesting techniques is stop motion. Giving life to real dolls through out a whole movie is a though task, and Henry Selick's Coraline is all about it. This a trailer for the movie, which is totally awesome and beatifully done. It's already up and running in theaters everywhere. You guys will really enjoy it! Cheers! ;)

First International Trailer for Max Payne

It's been some time since I got this hyped in a morning. During my regular visits to First Showing (a must visit for all movie freaks), I ran into something I wasn't expecting: the 1st friggin' international trailer for the Max Payne movie. And I know the preview picture isn't from the movie, but from the game, but it's totally cool. I don't know if you guys realize who big this is. For those who were out to Venus for the past 8 years, Max Payne is a video game character, from a game called, uhn, Max Payne. It was out in 2001, and was absolutily STUNNING... It had the bullet time from Matrix, and still 2 years later, when the Enter the Matrix game was released, it wasn't as good as the original Max Payne. Max Payne is everything we expected ETM to be, and wasn't. And now, I also got to know that they are about to release friggin' Max Payne 3 for PC. Geeeez!!! Alright, I'm REALLY hyped. LOL. About the movie, Mark Wahlberg is playing our hero, and the trailer looks awesome. Well, check out the trailer already... [Javascript required to view Flash movie, please turn it on and refresh this page] Another thing I didn't know is that there were some other Max Payne movies release in Poland! I so wanna see those... unfortunately, there aren't any torrent files online... or at least I didn't find any. You can see below these other movies posters. Again, these are not the new movie posters. If you're not familiar with the Max Payne feel, I must say it reminds a lot Sin City comics... something noir, and still got all that bullet time kicking ass sweetness, pretty much as a Matrix movie. I must insist, if you've never played any of Max Payne's games before, YOU MUST PLAY THEM. It's totally awesome. :]
