I stumbled across what Honda was working on a new self-balancing motorcycle, it was pretty cool. Seeing this bike got me wanting to surf on the process behind the industrial design work of such concepts.
We live with our smartphones and now smartwatches always within reach, that gives easy access to a lot of information, from news to weather and time. They also sort of replace simple things like the need for a wall clock unless its design make it much more than useful, it becomes a statement of style and almost a piece of art. That is the case of the Circadian Clock by Dan Taylor.
The Circadian Clock is a clock face concept that displays the 24 hour cycle using light and dark sections. The E-paper clock display allows the viewer to intuitively distinguish the passage of time even in locations without windows. The face displays the time in a similar way to an analog clock, with a shaded area that expands as it gets later.
