Collection of nautical designs inspired by the blue depths for C.A.C. Paris. The Abyss collection is based on traditional pattern structures : classic toile de Jouy, ikat, camo, stripes, wax fabric and floral prints. 

Abrogratto 18 is a brand of premium, ready-to-drink bottled cocktails. As it is a small company, they have chosen to create collections of small batches of classic cocktails, the first one being Negroni. The visual identity of Abrogratto 18 is versatile and neutral so that it can adapt to each of the collections without losing the essence of the brand.

Student-run fundraiser 25tolife is hosting a music and arts festival with all proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society. 25toLife is a joint project between Kamal Masri's SFU Beedie School of Business Project Management class and the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS).

Monday is our motion design day. Why? Well, just because it’s fun to say motion Monday? Honestly there’s no reason but the Aamir Khan totally deserved to be feature and shared here on Abduzeedo. It is a mix of beautiful 3D work with super smooth animations using Cinema 4D, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop. It’s also a personal project of Aamir.

I have been going back through old tutorials to fix some of the images that might be broken or with old formatting. The blog has changed quite a lot since we started 12 years ago. It’s incredible to see how many Photoshop tutorials we’ve written and how some of them stood the test of time.

The amazing people over at Unicorn scooters reached out to us to share a bit more about their vision and of course, their design process. They create a scooter totally focused on the idea of sharing. It’s electric and has a super sleek look. Everything is really well thought out, from the industrial design to the brand identity. We also love to receive this type of message.

I know this might sound crazy and you can unfollow me right now, but, I am not a fan of the Star Wars franchise. I actually enjoyed watching the first trilogy back in the 80s. I have this clear memory of a Sunday afternoon, a rainy day. My parents are sleeping on the sofa and my brother and I are on the floor with blankets watching the rerun on TV.

Pavel Fuksa and Barbora Idesová shared a really cool illustration and motion design post on their Behance page. The idea/inspiration was:  “What happens when you shuffle the letters in the song’s lyrics and create a bunch of eerie and bizarre anagrams?

It looks like one of the new trends will be the cyberpunk one. From video-games like Cyberpunk 2077 to the of course incredibly polemic Cybertruck from Tesla. My prediction is that we will see more and more references to that style not only in the design industry but in general. One area that is clear that is already drinking from that source is special effects and motion design.

A couple of minutes ago, a good friend of mine living across the Atlantic sea. Sent me a 'designer meme' to laugh about. It was a joke about designer/developer handoff supported by a beautiful UI inspired by Skeuomorphism design from the old days, circa around the 2000s. It reminded me how this is making a comeback somehow, is it?

We would like to share this tribute for the Dell Latitude created back in 1994 all the way to its present day.

A couple of weeks ago I shared some photos I took last year. The main goal was, one, to share high resolution images, and two, to create an incentive for me to take more photos. With those noble causes in mind I had the chance to travel to Europe last week for a short business trip. In between meetings I was able to sneak out and capture some photos.

Let's start it off by saying that I really do enjoy diving into a student project. Fewer boundaries and more room for creativity. This is what we are mostly striving as we go deeper into our career level, once you understand your work ethic and establish a solid structure.

For the upcoming summer/ fall, we will be planning our next vacation in Beijing or somewhere in China. I think it will be a great introductory to how's life in China and obviously to explore the magnificent neons spots! :) For the occasion, we are featuring the work of Ekaterina and her series titled: 'Beijing'.

Yesterday I posted about the work of Dylan Levionnoi and the many 90s references for his work had. Today, we will keep on with the same topic, perhaps because now I am aware, but It seems to be that there are more projects with a similar style.

It is a great time to be a designer, we have incredible tools at our disposal and they all have inviting prices, some even being free. In addition to that, the community is thriving. There’s no shortage of material, from people sharing thoughts on design process and experience to a plethora of assets. A good example is the case of fonts.

Urbano is a new Lightroom preset created from the desire to bring to life some of the photos that look dull or poorly lit. Living in big cities we are surrounded by concrete and oftentimes a monotonous blend of colors be it concrete, asphalt, metal, and glass.

Pavel Zertsikel shared some awesome digital design projects on his Behance profile. I personally like the 3D typography treatment he created, especially with the usage of transparency. Unfortunately there’s no mention of the tools used, which made me wonder how he achieve such nice effects.
