Currently in the beautiful city of Amsterdam to cover the launch of the next step for LYNK & CO, we have witnessed their experience back to Berlin. Now we are here in a city where everything is about their artistic heritage, elaborate canal system and narrow houses with never-ending #straightfacades. I really like it here, you won't be surprised seeing people taking selfies and sharing a kiss. This is how Amsterdam has its own beauty. With that same charming effect, LYNK & CO has a strong forté at creating launch events that will activate all your senses into a seamless experience. Let's just say they put up an amazing show to introduce us to the most "shareable and ultra-connected" car, the 02. In their words, It's not about the power of the car anymore. It's about changing mobility forever, what they mean by that? Well, it will be more than your traditional car dealerships, think of urban-located brand boutiques located for which where their first store will be in Amsterdam. Embracing the same philosophy they stand for, they will also tour Europe with what they called: "Offline Stores", I love how this company goes ahead at pushing us to buy cars directly online, ditching our car keys and instead unlock cars using our phones, enhancing our car ownership to allow car-sharing through an app, and pay your car through a subscription that will kind of remind you of your phone bills. This is where they are headed, this has been again an incredible experience as we look forward to 2020 when sales will start in Europe. Dank je LYNK & CO! In their words In Amsterdam today, the third model in LYNK & CO's stunning line-up of cars. 02 was revealed at an urban adventures themed launch party in the Netherlands's Capital.edc As a global brand with a strong European identity, these announcements in our home nations fill me with pride. From our HQ in Sweden, we will roll-out sales with an initial focus on key European cities for our target audience of globally connected urbanities. - Alain Visser, LYNK & CO Senior Vice President Meet LYNK & CO 02 More Links Learn more about LYNK & CO Follow LYNK & CO on Instagram There is more The first European store will open in Amsterdam, quickly followed by new locations in Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels and London as the first cities adopted the brand. Currently in Sweden, I had the honour to assist earlier today to the World Premiere of the new Volvo V60, right in the heart of Suburbia of Stockholm. I was part with many others in participation of a non-traditional way to unveil a new car. If you think about the traditional way of a conference hall or a motor show. It wasn't the case at all. We had a really warm welcome in a beautiful house where you were able to walk around and see first hands the diverse needs and realities of modern family life. After a quick lunch and being served fika, we took "stage" outside the house in the parking area where the snow (real snow!) was slowly falling down. It was the perfect set. We even had some neighbours from houses all around that was looking through their own household windows, it felt really like an intimate experience. After a little while, the new Volvo V60 was revealed to us. A stunning design packed with the new T6 Twin Engine AWD petrol plug-in hybrid that generates a combined 340hp or the T8 Twin Engine AWD petrol plug-in hybrid that delivers 390hp. That's not all, Volvo is standing tall as the industry leader in safety, with a comprehensive list of safety features including advanced driver support systems known from the 90 Series and XC60, making the new V60 one of the safest cars on the road. In their words The car was launched in its natural habitat – the driveway of a family home in Stockholm – highlighting Volvo Cars’ pedigree in family estates and pinpointing how the V60’s versatile design caters to the diverse needs and realities of modern family life. Few car makers can match Volvo Cars’ history and credibility in making well-designed, practical and versatile estate cars. The family estate driver is an important customer for our business and has been for generations,” said Håkan Samuelsson, president and CEO of Volvo Cars. “The new V60 honours that tradition, but also takes it much further.” Håkan Samuelsson on the Volvo V60 Your browser does not support the video tag. Mercedes-Benz has recently introduced the 2019 G-Class model, the first redesign in nearly 40 years. A lot of people will mention that this model looks pretty identical but it's mostly a redesign to improve the on-road dynamics and adding loads of new tech for the next generation. We are taking a look at the work of Markus Wendler, a photographer based in Germany. Markus has worked with many big brands (mostly car companies) like: Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and more. In this collection, we are following the magnificent car in different locations like Iceland, Frankfurt and Utah, USA. Photographer Markus Wendler shot the new generation of Mercedes' G Class in 3 looks. It was a massive job spanning the USA and Europe. The results are breath taking automotive landscape shots, showing the off road vehicle mastering different elements. About a year ago, we went to the international car launch of LYNK & CO in Berlin, Germany. They are now releasing their first car in China, the Model 01 (shown in the gallery). Designed and engineered in Sweden, the Model 01 went to pre-sale on November 17th. 6000 cars were sold in less than three minutes, this is the fastest selling SUV in the World. Bringing their brand with connectivity with a sharing function and the world’s first in-car share button, to wireless charging and a dedicated LYNK & CO apps store. In their words LYNK & CO has abandoned the traditional automotive concept of base models, entry points and endless options lists. Now, just 12 months later, we start sales of our connected and shareable 01 SUV in record fashion. Online we have replicated the in-store experience and simplicity of choice with our unique ‘explorator’ carousel. Just stop on the car you like and subscribe online – it’s as simple as that, as Chinese customers have proven during our pre-sale event. It’s always impressive that somehow you’ll look at a photograph and you’re not even sure if it’s real or not. I am especially talking about car photographs, we understand that is a tremendous amount of work to just finding the location, getting the equipment, getting the special car and crew to just organize everything together. What if there’s another route? Let’s not pick a side, let’s rather enjoy the stunning CGI work from Onur Dursun who has been a CGI artist for more than 10 years currently based in Stuttgart, Germany. With that much experience to craft his skills, Onur has been rocking in art direction, retouching and of course automotive design. Experienced with over 10 years in Computer Generated Imagery (CGI). Gleb Kuznetsov shared some quite beautiful motion design projects for Automotive UI. on his Dribbble page. They seem to be for the new Fantasy Auto Lab project done by the amazing people over at Fantasy, a Human-centered UI & UX studio based in New York and Silicon Valley. One of the reasons I thought it would be cool to share this projects is because it has a Tron look, quite different from what we have been seeing since flat design, if that is even a style, became popular. There's much more to love than just the style. The animations and details are top notch and make me want to see the full project. They are beautiful, expensive, symbol of luxury; aren't they really? I am talking about magnificence automotive cars, only a certain amount of people will ever be able to afford one of those. Actually, if we think just a little deeper, what's so definitive about these "exotic cars", I mean we can take any cars and strap the logo and make it our own right? Actually no, there's a reason why these cars are so pricey. I would say the quality and durability of shorts is the reasons why you would want to get a luxury car. The marketing of the brand is also another factor that contributes to the finesse of it all, through this process we'll have photography work done too. Let's take a closer look at the work from Marc Trautmann Since 1993, Freelance photographer with a focus on automotive and people. About Marc Trautmann Marc is a photographer based in Frankfurt, Germany. Working mainly in photography and digital photography, Marc had the opportunity to work with car brands like: BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Lamborghini, Porsche, Jaguar and more. I found Kim's work on Instagram and was instantly hooked to her Traveling Cars Adventures series. As she says at her website, the series shows her little toy cars in dramatic situations. And I gotta say it is hard for you not to fall in love with her toy cars and embark on their journey. Kim is currently lives in London where she is studying Photography at the University of the Arts London. Her pictures are delicate and inspiring. You can totally put together a whole background story for her little cars. I'm a total fan of her pics and I had to share them here with you. Take a look! My name is Kim Leuenberger, I was born in 1992 in the North West of Switzerland in a region called Jura. As the regions is quite small and lost in between two chains of mountains, I started to travel a lot around Europe, hungry to discover more of the world and be a real explorer. I always liked photography and started it at a very young age, however I only owned my own dslr for my nineteenth Birthday. It has been love at first sight with a little nikon d3100. Almost 2 years I've upgraded to a Canon 5d mark iii and learned all I know about photography by myself, by reading magazines or websites. I now use a range of different cameras to capture the car series, with an Olympus EM5 mkII and sometimes a LeicaQ. I love being creative with my photography as well as documenting the life around me. I love making objects and tell a story through my pictures, music is my biggest inspiration, I named many of my pictures after songs of my favorite artists (Mumford and Sons, Ben Howard, etc..) And don't forget, we are all explorers of this beautiful world! There's nothing better than starting the week off with some inspiring photos from old cars modified to cross the desert at massive speed. It sounds like the plot for a new Mad Max movie and the work that Christopher Wilson shared on his Behance profile titled Bonneville Speed Week could definitely be a part of the movie series. The images are quite stunning, especially the mood evoked and the more I get myself into photography more I'm inspired by beautiful photography work. For more information about Christopher make sure to check out this work at http://www.christopherwilsonphotography.com/ Part of a campaign of imagery documenting Speed Week at the Bonneville Salt Flats.
