I really do enjoy when brands work on a collaborative partnership that triggers creativity and also finding ways to make us work with our hands more. Since almost everything can be achieved digitally, it's great to be reminded of basic principles.
Hugo Santarem is a super talented brazilian photographer with an incredible portfolio. We’ve featured him here on the blog in the past and we will keep featuring his work because it’s simply beautiful. For this post I’d love to share some photos from his collection called Myanmar - Padaung Women. Hugo added more information behind the work as well.
Their names are Mu Lone, Mu Mai, My Htan, Mu Li, Mu Mwel, Mu Ywe and they had never ever removed their neck rings for at least the last 50 years. They are part of the dying culture of Padaung People, and this culture is almost over because the Young women are not using the rings anymore…
