Yesterday we posted a really cool article featuring some beautiful typography work done for the OFFF conference. Today, we have another equally amazing post, different techniques and outcome but visually beautiful just the same. The project is for Lootcrate, a subscription service that every month sends you a box full of stuff from movies, tv series, cartoons, comics and video-games.
We have seen quite a few illustrations with the low poly style, it looks like a very difficult technique but Breno Bitencourt put together a very complete Photoshop tutorial showing the process, including a video. I will really give it a try and now you have the chance to try to, check it out. Here I'll show you step-by-step how to create a stylish low-poly portrait in Illustrator and Photoshop. The secret to creating works in this style is working from the best reference photos – and first off Breno reveals how to capture these (using himself as a model).
Crimson Peak - Legendary's Art Series by Bartosz Kosowski - is the kind of illustration that really catches my attention and that's for a few things: incredible detail, few colors and a sense of craftsmanship that reminds me of old woodcut style illustrations. Bartosz, an illustrator based in Lodz, Poland exemplifies that beautifully in this project. "Crimson Peak" poster created for the upcoming Guillermo del Toro film (starring Mia Wasikowska, Tom Hiddleston and Jessica Chastain) which is to be released on October 16, 2015.
