Unsplash for iOS: Creation starts here

Our friends from Unsplash are making some noise with the launch of Unsplash for iOS. The idea is quite simple, bringing awesome images into your iOS applications faster and quite easily. Starting the launch on the iPad and iPhone (Hopefully Android will come soon!), the app is quite playful and quite enjoyable. I love the fact that they enhanced the experience on the iPad, you should definitely give it a try. Unsplash for iOS For nearly five years, 78,222 contributors have been building the largest library of freely usable, high-resolution photos anyone can use for anything. On Unsplash.com, over 481,304 photos have been shared and downloaded over 362 million times. More Links Learn more about Unsplash Get the app Unsplash for iOS In their words Today, we’re bringing all the freely usable photography on Unsplash to iPad and iPhone. And we’re doing it in a way that focuses not only on photography but on the creative use of it. The Unsplash app is super focused on doing just one thing well: getting great images into creative applications quickly and easily. Unsplash photography is meant to be created with. Yet, most acts of creation still happen on “computers.” The next step after you download an Unsplash photo is likely opening a creative tool like Photoshop or Keynote on a desktop or laptop computer. California Highway 1 - Wallpaper

California Highway 1 - Wallpaper

The wallpaper of this week is a photo I took while driving up north on Pacific Highway 1, one of the most beautiful drives in my humble opinion. The cliffs and the ocean combined with a beautiful winter blue sky will always offer great photo opportunities. It's hard to describe the feeling of 'driving up the 1' through photos. For me, there's nothing like the cold breeze of the ocean and the sound of the water hitting the rocks on deserted beaches, no houses just you and nature. It's a connection hard to describe in words, but I hope this picture captures a bit of what I am trying to depict. Full image for download

Wallpaper of the Week - Space Invaders

Wallpaper of the Week - Space Invaders

The wallpaper of this week is a photo I took in Hong Kong of one of the Space Invaders artwork. The exhibition was titled WIPE OUT and there were several amazing pieces from this legendary French artist. Invader is internationally known for his pixelated mosaic “space invaders” which he has placed in over 60 cities around the world for almost 20 years. In January 2014, the artist launched the third wave of his “invasion” in Hong Kong 13 years after he first hit the city. The works showed a significant evolution, displaying characters from local culture and classic cartoons, but still in the artist’s immediately recognisable pixel aesthetic. I define myself as an ULA, an unidentified living artist. I chose Invader as my pseudonym and I always appear behind a mask. As such, I can visit my own exhibitions without any visitors knowing who I really am even if I stand a few steps away from them. Since 1998, I have developed a large scale project, code name: Space Invaders For more information visit http://www.space-invaders.com/home/ Desktop Version iPad Version iPhone Version Resolutions: 2880x1800px 2560x1440px 1920x1200px 1680x1050px 1440x900px 1280x800px iPhone iPad
