ILLO Studio built a motion design system for YouTube Studio Moments — 50+ Lottie assets using luminance, glow, and color to mark every creator milestone.

Each animation in the motion design system acts as its own light source. Glows radiate outward from rounded, buoyant forms — cool deep darks at the outer edges, warm luminous cores at the center. Overlapping shapes create secondary color interactions that define hierarchy without text or iconography. ILLO Studio used this luminance logic to separate subtle inline signals from full-bleed celebration moments. This motion design system works at both scales without losing clarity.

How ILLO Studio Built the YouTube Studio Motion Design System

Working alongside the YouTube Studio creative team, ILLO Studio evolved what were once isolated achievement notifications into a coherent visual language. Creative direction came from Ilenia Notarangelo; motion direction from Dave Cubitt. The library of 50+ Lottie assets extends this motion design system across product environments using simple geometric principles.

The result is a motion design system where light does the communicating. A subscriber milestone and a channel launch feel distinct not because of copy or iconography, but because of how each animation glows.
