Jokes aside along with all the memes that we have shared about the "new" iPhone XS, we also always go into this dilemma about whatever you should upgrade or not. That's how Apple is good at marketing their new products (especially how they listed them to confuse the hell all of us). For me?
It's Sunday and it's a beautiful day! Some of us are prepping ourselves to take our mothers to brunch or a family picnic at the park for Mother's Day. Some mothers aren't having the luxury of this simple reality, the video starts with: "Nothing, nothing. I don’t want anything,". It's a bold message of their hard daily realities but at the same time, they have to keep things going for the better.
With the new year, we would love to bring back some of the feedback we have heard from you guys during the past few months. One of the main thing we keep hearing about are the imminent comeback of features related Motion. Well, we are listening! This is Abduzeedo's re-introduction of motion inspiration. Something we haven't done in such a long time. We will focus on motion sequences created from opening titles, short stories, showreel and more. Let us know what you think and please enjoy this cool comeback on ABDZ and the picks!
With today's celebration of Father's Day, a least known celebration compared to Mother's Day but still has its rewards. We have took a look at a similar campaign for Mother's Day on ABDZ but let's meet Frank. The latest spot from SickKids by Cossette. We follow Frank on his day from a workday to finish it off with a "Night Shift" where the inspiration comes from that parenting is a 24/7 job at the best times.
Color Grading is a subject that we rarely featured on Abduzeedo, it's a process of post-production that involves altering and enhancing the colour for a motion picture, video image or still image. For the occasion, we would happily share the work from Maria Carretero. With a background in paintings, installations, and sculptures; she decided to go into an industry gender and diversity issues where she's been now working for the last 15 years and also becoming a role model for the next generation. Give it a look!
With Mother's Day coming up this Sunday, among the festivities for the occasion. Some others doesn't have the same luxury that a few of us take for granted. We have featured a SickKids campaign before and now they are back with a video that shares inner strength from mothers of SickKids. I am grateful enough for not experiencing the pain they must face every single day. To me, they are the best and they do reserve recognition.
I would like to share something that is close to our hearts, the thought of having sick kids as being parents, siblings, friends and anybody around. You couldn’t help that it will touch you somehow. I’ve been lucky to never have been through this process but I would imagine that will be hard to everyone. There’s something more about getting that latest tech and it’s being lucky to be healthy and living.
Today, November 25th, the world celebrates 100 years of Einstein's theory of General Relativity. As a fan of science and having Einstein as one of my personal heroes I couldn't let this date pass in vain. After reading several books, biographies and articles about Einsteins contributions to the understanding of our universe, still today it blows my mind to think what he was able to accomplish with just pencil and paper.
Yesterday while checking my Facebook I saw this awesome time-lapse video that Rik Oostenbroek posted capturing a behind the scenes of peek of his project for Nike Total Football. The end result is quite beautiful, as we always expect from Rik. Seeing how he creates these amazing illustrations is not only amazing but really inspiring. I learned a couple of new tricks just by checking it, you should do the same. Nike asked me to stay true to my own personal style and experiment with it and go crazy.
We have posted many articles about typography but there are a number of projects in particular that really catch our eye. Whether it's the striking visual outcome or the technique behind it, we're blown away by the amazing talent that surrounds us. That's the case of the Melting Offf Unmasked project by Noelia Lozano for the Offf conference.
Motion design is still an area that I am a complete newbie but I am learning to admire and understand some of the subtleties that make this field so incredible for me. For this post I want to share a beautiful project created by Martijn Hogenkamp a Creative Director from Amsterdam, Netherlands. The simplicity and the style of the work makes each frame worth of a poster, check it out. For our good friends Leadsmen, a Dutch electronic outfit, we’ve created a teaser for their album Arctic, which was released the 21st of April 2015.
Drones equipped with cameras are commonly known as cool gadgets to have. Instead of flying them through your neighborhood or your backyard, some people will take them on their voyage. Insightful and exhilarating at the same time, watching these footages would forcely demand your need of travelling. Enjoy!
It has been quite some time since I posted about motion graphics. I have had the recent chance to work with some motion designers and it's amazing to see the things that they can do. I am trying to learn some new things but for me the problem is still getting the timing right. The video that I wanted to share today has all of it, beautiful graphics and fantastic motion. The piece was created by murAta Yuzi for the TANO*C TOUR 2014 TOKYO Jingle Movie.
Visual identity is much more than stationary and printed materials, it goes beyond the static graphic representation and extends to motion. Nowadays, it is commonplace to see animations that by themselves represent a brand, whether by the style, motion curves or both. MTV is a good example and probably one of the pioneers in playing with video to extend their brand.
I love all things outerspace and artworks inspired by this particular subject. Perhaps because of growing up watching NASA's mission on TV and all that imagination about the future with spaceships and the conquering of space. So the guys from Lightfarm Studios put together a really cool piece and an even more awe-inspiring case study showing the process behind it. Check it out. Description Inspired by the book "Rendezvous with Rama" of Arthur C. Clarke, our computer generated astronaut meets the world's ending in a highly detailed vortex.

Cinematics is a timeline of classic films and characters illustrated by Pier Paolo, it's a experimental project that he did and his spare time. The sound was made by Marcelo Baldin also known as Combustion. The Cinematics lettering was also made by me, and right now I'm working on a complete family for this font and I hope to launch it soon! When I saw this video I was so impressed that I had to post it here on Abduzeedo. The video is titled "ICONS" and it was created for the Sunday Times with the goal to illustrate iconic images from movies, music, street art and more. With all shot in what seems to be one take, the video is simply amazing, check it out. The Sunday Times 'ICONS' - This is all about those iconic cultural images that we pin to our walls and stick in our minds. We all have our favourites.
Human vs nature. A primeval desire to prove oneself, challenge the nature, to win and go down in history future generations. The idea behind the visual look of the spot was to show the struggle every Sportsman must face during the biggest and most important sport event, The Olympic Games. The spot is set to build audience’s awareness and excitement ahead of the BBC’s coverage of the 2014 Winter Olympics.
An animated self-portrait exploring the idea of rebirth and illustrating the transfer of energy from one incarnation to another.
