Atlas: Branding and Visual Identity for Remote Communities

Explore how Moonbound created a branding visual identity for Atlas, a marketplace designed to connect communities in remote areas.

In today's interconnected world, it's easy to forget that there are still many communities that are geographically isolated. These communities often lack access to essential goods and services, making it difficult for residents to thrive. Atlas is a new mobile marketplace that is designed to address this challenge by connecting communities in remote areas and providing them with access to the resources they need.

Moonbound, a design studio, was tasked with creating a visual identity for Atlas that would capture the company's mission and values. The challenge was to create a brand that was both modern and approachable, and that would resonate with people from all walks of life.

Moonbound's solution was to create a visual identity that is based on the concept of connection. The logo features an arrowhead that symbolizes the app's search feature, while the gradient background, inspired by the night sky, reflects the remote setting. The animated graphs help communicate their principles across digital mediums.

The branding and visual identity for Atlas were created with a focus on the company's key characteristic of automation. The "corner" element is used throughout the branding to represent the company's focused and unique approach to educating people and simplifying specific life and work processes.

Atlas' visual identity is based on a simple shape in its various forms and combinations. This shape is used to create a variety of patterns and designs that are used throughout the branding. The colors black and white are used to create a clean and modern look.

The branding guidelines include examples of how the visual identity can be used to create generative output for social media. This includes examples of how to use the "corner" element to create patterns and designs.

The branding guidelines also include examples of how the visual identity can be used to create unique 3D models. These models can be used to represent the company's product offerings, such as BIM-integration, education, and automation.

The branding and visual identity for Atlas are strong and effective. They are memorable, easy to understand, and relevant to the company's target audience. The branding guidelines are also well-written and easy to follow.
