In a striking collaboration that underscores the power of visual storytelling, the creative studio Odd Bleat teamed up with VML Singapore to bring a fresh, illustrative identity to Scoot Airlines. Tasked with creating a suite of 100 illustrations, Odd Bleat has masterfully encapsulated the essence of Scoot's "Escape the Ordinary" mantra through a vivid array of character-driven narratives that span across passengers, crew, destinations, and the airline's fleet itself.
The genesis of this ambitious project began with a clear vision: to craft flat-color, character-based illustrations that resonate with the global audience of Scoot. From the initial sketches to the final vectorized artworks, each illustration was injected with a distinct personality and style, breaking free from the mundane to celebrate the diversity and vibrancy of Scoot's worldwide destinations.
Odd Bleat's dedication to detail is evident in the meticulous selection of clothing, accessories, and poses, ensuring that each character, whether human or animal, tells a unique story. The color palette, dominated by Scoot's signature yellow, black, and white, with splashes of additional tones, serves to enrich the visual experience, making each illustration not just a piece of art but a gateway to an extraordinary journey.
The illustrations were categorized into four main themes: Passengers, Travelers, Destinations, and the Scoot Crew, each highlighting different aspects of the travel experience with Scoot. For example, the Passengers category brought to life the airline's features like extra legroom and in-flight amenities, while the Destinations illustrations celebrated the cultural richness of cities served by Scoot.
