This past weekend, we had the absolute opportunity to watch the anticipated trailer of the Batman directed by Matt Reeves; starting Robert Pattinson, Colin Farrell, Zoe Kravitz, and more. In a few words, it was an explosive trailer totally worth the wait since we last saw the teaser last year during the pandemic.

Shapes and Forms + has shared their motion design project for the popular 'Western Digital' products and more specifically for their 'WD Black' lineup of products. Personally, I love how they put an emphasis on the 'dark tone' of its product highlights and a burst of vivid colors. Make sure to check out the video project and we included the styleframes.

The folks over at Carla have created a quite elegant branding and visual identity project for August, a skin care product based in New York. Having good skin is worth its weight in gold, but not at the cost of our own sanity.

HWAL shared this poster design 5 years ago. Yes, you heard it right, it was back in 2015 but it looks as fresh as if it was done yesterday. It goes back to the principle that good design (in this case graphic design) is long lasting. The complementary colors, subtle gradient and beautiful composition are a perfect recipe for that. 

Markus Kanzler has been creating a 3D series for quite some time now and it's interesting that we have never really featured in before on abdz? No harms done, let's make it happen now with a 3D series that Markus releases on a monthly basis titled: 'Mentis Abstractae'. You can see his progression in crafting his art, they are quite amazing.

Lucas Pereira has shared a cool what he would call a 'mood study' about light and compositions to create cinematic looks with cats. I think they are super well done and cute to look at. I was obviously drawn to the ones that aspire to any Tokyo and Blade Runner atmosphere. What do you think?

Sabbath . shared the branding and design guidelines they created for Atmovum, a company that develops new & alternative technologies in sustainable mobility, focused on needs inside and outside of cities.

Jeffrey Ludlow Saenz with Point Of Reference Studio shared a new branding and signage for the premiere New York Observation Experience. Working with Kenzo Digital, Snohetta and SL Green they created an identity and signage system.

To add some variety to our features, I wanted to share these beautiful & striking illustrations for the Dutch newspaper 'De Volkskrant' by Maaike Canne. What's interesting is that Maaike uses a combination of the iPad Pro and Procreate to create these. I think the results came out beautifully and I love the visual style too.

Pink! That's what you notice right away with this branding and visual identity by Duo Sílvia Silva & Carolina Peres for a restaurant that serves delicious brunch, smoothies, and coffees served any time of the day for the lazy people. To specify, to the lazy people based in Porto, Portugal.

In Singapore, over 3 million people a day travel via taxis, buses and trains – and many of these links are owned by transport behemoth ComfortDelGro (CDG). In short, CDG is synonymous with getting around the city. However by 2019, market share was being eroded due to strong competition from new-economy tech platforms like Grab and Gojek.

With the new abdz design, we always feel compelled to somehow make an effort to mix and match with the grid design. It's quite fun and challenging. To keep this momentum, I wanted to share the work from Sabbath . and the brand direction project they developed for 'Grit' which is a marketing studio that focuses on strategy, content, e-commerce, and ads.

Kids draw monsters. Then artists from all over the world re-imagine those monsters in their own unique styles. The Monster Project (TheMonsterProject.org) teaches children about the power of their imaginations and encourages them to pursue their creative potential.

Ivett Lénárt shared a branding and visual identity project for BOO Studio — BOO Studio was founded by Ildikó Kele and Eszter Lebó.  They manufacture accessories for kids and grown ups out of premium quality merino yarn. 

Taoliang Wang is a visual designer based in Changsha, China. He has been creating and on the road to conceptualize 100 variations of the Ethereum (ETH) icon renderings for Vuesax. For those who don't know what is ETH, well it's the 2nd most popular cryptocurrency conceived in 2013 by programmer Vitalik Buterin.
