From my early days in art school Ruben Grigorian was fascinated by impossible and unusual things. During his time in architecture school, boring architecture was his enemy. Ruben was fascinated by the works of Wolf D. Prix and Coop Himmelb(l)au, early Zaha Hadid and everyone else from the deconstructivist movement.

I have been digging the work of Martin Naumann and have been enjoying the abstract experiments that we have featured on abdz. Here's to another titled 'Osmosis' which is a series of personal experiments using Filter Forge. I will be honest, this is the first time I have heard of this tool.

AZ Studio is a digital agency focused on web design based in Russia. They created a beautiful  website to showcase their work. It was built using Tilda + code modifications. The outcome is a quite editorial and elegant web design with beautiful contrast of typography and a black and white color selection.

The fine folks from Tubik Studio have shared a web design project for Synthesized, a DataOps Platform. Synthesized promotes collaboration between sensitive data for growth and innovation. I particularly love their work on branding where dealing with 'sensitive' in other words 'boring' to transform it into a dynamic brand direction.

BAOV chen shared a beautiful 3D project using Blender. From the description it seems that after learning about a model made in Blender, BAOV started trying to recreate the style by rearranging shape and topology. After that BAOV made some renderings of the effects and what we see here today is that. Quite inspiring.

Capturing the feeling of a period in time, or a decade is not as easy as you might think. Romain Billaud succeeds where some, including me, have failed. He totally deserves the Designer Spotlight. 

Escuro in Portuguese means dark, blackish or closer to black than white., Escuro is also the name of the new set of Lightroom CC presets created with the intent of turning photos of ocean water in its various states into a minimalistic image. Photography has always been a hobby and a passion for me.

Formist Editions has released Kris Sowersby: The Art of Letters, a visual feast of letterforms celebrating one of the world’s leading type designers.

Kirill Kim shared a quite beautiful web design and UI/UX project. There’s not much information about the project created for Decoroom, however the vignettes shared highlight the minimal look, the elegant use of photography and typography with one of my favorite typefaces, Inter.

I stumbled across this series of 'brutalist-inspired' posters of Hong Kong and thought it would be a great fit for a feature on abdz. With the shades of blue, red, white, and lots of textures. We are following illustrations of several iconic and controversial modernist architectural pieces in Hong Kong, built between 1950s and 1980s.
