Stance Studio and ADMK have released a stunning short film tribute to Michael Jordan and his iconic Solid Gold OVO Air Jordan sneakers, directed by Blvckstance. The film uses motion design to tell the story of Michael Jordan's journey to greatness through the metaphor of his famous sneakers and their impact on basketball and pop culture.
The film showcases Michael Jordan's journey to perfection through his most significant victories, using the iconic monologue from Michael Jordan's 2014 ad, "Maybe it's my fault." The golden version of the sneaker shown at the end represents Jordan's growth and experience as a player. The legendary limited edition Solid Gold OVO Air Jordan sneakers, made of pure gold by renowned artist Matthew Senna in 2016, were sold at auction for $2 million.
The film's sound combines calmness with sharp low-frequency strikes to describe Michael's wit and power on the court. A tiger's roar has been added to enhance the perception of the moments where Michael dunks the ball. The artistic team has managed to organically combine motion design with sound and storytelling to create a stunning tribute to Michael Jordan and his impact on basketball and pop culture.
The team assembled worldwide for this project has made it into a brand film, and the use of sand as a visual language to show Michael Jordan's professional growth adds to the overall impact of the film. The movement of the sand is fluid and undulating, highlighting the bright moments of his career, and the flashes of light on the sneakers and sand represent Michael's fame. The transformation of the sand from black to gold underscores the long journey from a simple player to an NBA superstar.
