During these quarantine days, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, RETOKA . took a breath and decided to make a series of posters inspired by the most common words and hashtags related to this problem. They have drawn the lines with barcodes of the words themselves. These codes have been generated following the standard Code-39 ASCII.

Imagine if a seer or a psychic told you that the new decade would start with a massive pandemic and that all the non-essential business would be shut down. What would you think? I would definitely think it’s pure bull crap. The funny thing is that we all those things happening, all but the psychic part. The truth is, everything feels too surreal, too much like a Hollywood movie.

How about some 80s/90s Nostalgia to kick off the long weekend ahead. Whatever you are still in confinement or even lockdown, I thought about sharing some art to live up our spirits during these weird times. As you may have heard us saying that before but inspiration comes through many forms, what's important is how does it affect you to stay sane, creative and more.

I have been living in Switzerland for almost 8 months now, it's definitely a slower pace than what I am used to but I am definitely enjoying it. I just love how close to nature you really are and the momentum of stress is almost non-existent. Following up, I love to discover designers or featuring interesting things on the blog.

Rutger Paulusse has been teasing with his new colorful & vibrant series titled: Material World. I just love the fact that Rutger mentioned that these are from unused R&D experiments that happen all the time. Usually, we do forget about it but I just dig how Rutger embraces them and goes beyond deeper.

Fellow Montrealer Thierry Doizon has been cooking up a series that has definitely caught our eyes. Titled: Hovercraft #X, we are following his conceptual and development experiments of Hovercrafts for the Hëll5pit project.

Having weekends and plenty of time at home means it might be the right time to redesign the blog. Yes, you heard it right, I am working on a new design for the site. That has been a routine for the past 14 years that I have been running Abduzeedo. Usually I redesign it every other year. The first step is always the same, a moodboard to try to identity the theme for this edition. 

Times are definitely changing, the bull market which was one of the longest is over and we are all heading to a global recession. I know this sounds super grim, but in order to help everyone to promote their work, we will start featuring designers from all over the world in a series we call Designer Spotlight. For this one bring to you the amazing work of Micah Lanier. 

Day 18. I am starting to lose count, I would be totally transparent, yesterday it was a hard day to go by. Spring is here and you do miss the time spent outside, hanging out with relatives, friends, and colleagues. But we have the right reasons to stay inside, it's not easy but it's the right thing to do to stop the spread and actually save lives.

I’ve never seen an event that affected so many countries in such a negative way. It’s sad to see what’s going on across Europe, Americas, Asia, Africa, pretty much everywhere. What is even more incredible in my personal opinion is that the only way to slow it down is that we all try to create social distancing, if possible staying home.

Day 14 of Confinement. Was it the future we all wished a couple of decades ago? One thing for sure, the entire planet is currently experiencing an 'invisible thread' that has touched many for the past weeks. Our advice to you? Listen to your leaders and make sure to take proper hygiene measures to stay safe.

What can I say, the recent news is really taking its exaction on the entire world. It has been touching us somehow and it's really important to keep the spirit up during these very hard times. Try to keep yourself informed during 'allowed timeslots', don't you just spend the entire day watching the news. It's unhealthy for your mind.

Like Minded Studio has shared are really cool project on their Behance page. Titled Shell House, the project rocks a composition using 3D Typography and a beautiful Art Deco style.

Since most of us are spending lots of time at 'home' and statistically speaking about 20% of the planet is in lockdown at the moment. How crazy is that? I hope you are finding the time to traverse new things and occupy all this time, maybe some Netflix? Speaking of that, did you watch the new Altered Carbon 2 Netflix series yet?
