Designing the future of TV - UX/Product Design

product design

Aside from web & mobile applications, it's not every day that we stumbled across a case study for 'Television Experience'. More specifically for AppleTV and tvOS, even adding to that medium. Imagine designing experience in another language in combination with English, how about 'Hebrew'?

Figma introducing new features to boost your workflow: Links and Search

figma

Figma should be part of your set of tools as designers and even as non-designers. They really changed the game in terms of how we work and how they have built (still going strong) a community surrounding the design tool and how you can contribute as well. They have introduced today two small features but quite impactful to your workflow.

Designer Spotlight Peter Voth

designers

Times are definitely changing, we all live in a pandemic and hopefully soon a post-pandemic reality. Economically things will be difficult initially but eventually things will get better. I know this sounds super grim, but in order to help everyone to promote their work, we will start featuring designers from all over the world in a series we call Designer Spotlight.

Classy Branding & Visual Identity for Anovel Jazz Festival

branding

It’s hard to not follow trends, I struggle, people I know struggle, you probably struggle. That’s okay. The best way to learn is to try to imitate things we like. I am a believer that nothing is truly brand new but more an interpretation of something. I wonder if that is because I am not not talented enough. I can talk about this for hours but that is not what I want to do for this post.

Hello I am Mac, a cloneable template made in Webflow

webflow

While we are still 'confined'. Hope you are still staying healthy and safe. As I was going through my social feeds, I stumbled across this very cool retro-themed Webflow template made in Webflow. Titled:' Meet Mac', it's a cloneable and fully customizable template you can get and make any adjustments you can to make it yours.

Thunder is 80s Graphic Design Awesomeness

graphic design

In this time of sorrow and stress there’s nothing better than a boost of pure 80s graphic design inspiration. A lightning of energy directed straight to our hearts to lift us up. Perhaps even get me out of my lazy state and make me open Photoshop and try to recreate that effect.

Quarantine Barcodes by RETOKA .

motion design

During these quarantine days, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, RETOKA . took a breath and decided to make a series of posters inspired by the most common words and hashtags related to this problem. They have drawn the lines with barcodes of the words themselves. These codes have been generated following the standard Code-39 ASCII.

Surrealist 3D Compositions for a Surrealistic Reality

3d

Imagine if a seer or a psychic told you that the new decade would start with a massive pandemic and that all the non-essential business would be shut down. What would you think? I would definitely think it’s pure bull crap. The funny thing is that we all those things happening, all but the psychic part. The truth is, everything feels too surreal, too much like a Hollywood movie.

Synthwave Art Scenes by Denny Busyet

80s

How about some 80s/90s Nostalgia to kick off the long weekend ahead. Whatever you are still in confinement or even lockdown, I thought about sharing some art to live up our spirits during these weird times. As you may have heard us saying that before but inspiration comes through many forms, what's important is how does it affect you to stay sane, creative and more.

Dark Waters, for Dark Times, Great Dark Wallpapers

photography

Photography for me is a hobby and for some reason I love taking photos of the ocean. I have been trying to capture its beauty for a long time and honestly failure has been a constant theme. There’s something about the context, the environment, the magic of nature that gets lost once that becomes static, digital.

Material World: Unused R&D Explorations

3d art

Rutger Paulusse has been teasing with his new colorful & vibrant series titled: Material World. I just love the fact that Rutger mentioned that these are from unused R&D experiments that happen all the time. Usually, we do forget about it but I just dig how Rutger embraces them and goes beyond deeper.

Mobile Design & Web Design Inspiration for ABDZ new design

web design

Having weekends and plenty of time at home means it might be the right time to redesign the blog. Yes, you heard it right, I am working on a new design for the site. That has been a routine for the past 14 years that I have been running Abduzeedo. Usually I redesign it every other year. The first step is always the same, a moodboard to try to identity the theme for this edition.
