As a fan of personal and side projects I always try to provide support to designers that take their extra time to do something based on curiosity or simply to explore new ideas. Hussein Al-Erwi shared a series of poster design which he tried cultivating five drivers for success in an abstract and philosophical method on the audience.

I am a fan of Shopify, you can check out the ABDZ store there as well. But also I always love to share some motion design work and this one is awesome! Tendril was called upon to create a film for Shopify’s 2019 Summit. 

Alexander web-designer published a super cool web design concept for Ray-Ban. Ray-Ban is an American brand of sunglasses and eyeglasses created in 1937 by the American company Bausch & Lomb. The brand is known for their Wayfarer and Aviator lines of sunglasses. Alexander explored simple ways to make the product front and center.

Tipoversos is a poster design series created and published between 2018 and 2019. The feature parts of popular Brazilian songs illustrated only using lines. The choice of 15 songs was made based on Johnny Brito, the author of the posters, personal preference.

The 80s are definitely back after the amazing Stranger Things Netflix show. For some it never went away and some of the designers that I admire the most are masters at keeping the style of that decade alive. One of the cool things about it is of course the video-games. The pixelated badass action games like Double Dragon. We used to play that like crazy.

We used to run the Friday Free Fonts series of posts in the past but finding free fonts are not that easy. We understand the level of work necessary to design a font and good work is not always free. So today I want to feature the Frontage Condensed Typeface designed by Juri Zaech, a Swiss Art Director, currently living and working in Paris, France.

Let's start off the week (for me for sure) with a branding project that involves graphic design, illustration and lots of data. I would agree with most of you that data is quite a boring subject and quite a challenge to tackle through design.

Fak* Festival is a concept brand identity and web design project created and shared by Alberto Velardi. As the name suggests and Alberto said, Fak* Music Festival is not real, it’s fake; however the design that he created is totally real and quite awesome to be honest.

I wanted to share an update on my Osore Lightroom Presets, I finally got the time to work on a request I have been receiving a lot. Here it is: "How to Install Presets on your Smartphone (without a laptop)", it's a request I get at least once a week.

If you had to describe the 90s I am pretty sure compact disks would be part of that short description. Also known as CDs, they were part of that decade and they were also an important medium for designers to showcase their skills on the covers. I dare say that being able to design a CD cover was probably the main goal of any graphic designer.

An interesting mobile app design case study by Yaroslav Lozovoi, a UI/UX designer based in Odessa, Ukraine. He shared on Behance about a concept of a NYC Taxi App, we are commonly used to the Uber experience but how about for cab drivers?

I know you might probably be tired of Bauhaus and all the articles and tributes we post about it since we started the blog. This year is a very special one because we celebrate 100 years since the Bauhaus foundation. Personally, I am a fan of the way they saw the discipline of design and its importance what makes it useful to my work 100 years later.

Melody Yung and Brett Lovelady shared a really awesome graphic design/editorial design project on Behance titled Design Across America. It’s a collection of product design created across America from the folks over at Astro.

Let's kick it off with an insane papercraft project by Lee Jihee entitled: I Love Pizza. Lee is a graphic designer and a paper artist based in Seoul, Korea. This entire project is simply a feel-good and the number of little details entailed is just an impressive team work.

This year we celebrate the 20th anniversary of one of the best movies of all time, at least for me. I am talking about The Matrix. If you haven’t watched, please stop everything you are doing and go watch it.

I am a fan of concept projects in order to learn and explore different concepts. I do that all the time, especially to learn new tools or practice prototyping new ideas faster.

Either that you have a full-time job, contract-based or purely freelance; as designers we should always make room for personal/experimental projects. There's a ton of reasons why it's a great thing to keep that healthy balance with your creativity, your will of making things and finding ways to get away from boredom and eventually burning yourself out.
