It’s that time of the year that I am thinking about redesigning both my personal website and the blog. With this phase comes a lot of browsing thru inspiration examples of web design. Some are new, some are old but it’s always nice to see what it’s out there. I know that I am also stuck to simple, black and white, editorial design-like style. No neo-skeuomorphism just yet.

Simplicity is the biggest challenge for any designer. Well, at least it’s for me as I constantly battle to find ways to reduce elements, colors and pretty much anything without sacrificing usability. That’s why it’s difficult, however for some people it seems a bit easier, or they make it look easier, which highlights their talent.

I would like to share about a Figma plugin that I have been using lately and would like to share on ABDZ for your workflow. It's an Email Generator by Grigoriy Mashkovtsev. It's a useful plugin where you can design your own email template and export the HTML code from a frame. Simple as that!

A couple of months ago, we have shared on ABDZ a very outstanding tribute for the cult AKIRA animated movie by Ash Thorp in collaboration with zaoeyo. zaoeyo has administered to introduce a new project and it's a motion & production for "We Need To Talk" opening sequence. Nowadays, I like to think that any brands/companies with an existence with more than two decades, with how advanced is today's technology and social media. They must be trying to re-invent how the users will or can interact with the future of the brand.

Our friends over Figma have recently wrapped their first conference titled: 'Config' that happened in San Francisco, California.

Gerardo Quiroz is a pixel artist, that's pretty much it as he describes himself on his Behance profile, however that it’s pretty much it is quite amazing. Plus what’s also amazing is that the tools used for these projects below were created Photoshop CS5 extended.

I own an iPhone 11 Pro and the Pixel 4 XL and I have to say. Pause here, the Pixel 4 is much nicer from the industrial design point of view than the iPhone. I am talking about just the way that it feels when holding. There's something about the black rails, the pop of color of the white one and the simplicity that makes it especial.

We posted about this new trend a month or so ago, however it seems that it’s really picking up steam on sites like Dribbble. With more and more people sharing snippets of working exploring this style it makes me wonder, is the skeuomorphism or as we call it now, the neo-skeuomorphism coming back?

Abrogratto 18 is a brand of premium, ready-to-drink bottled cocktails. As it is a small company, they have chosen to create collections of small batches of classic cocktails, the first one being Negroni. The visual identity of Abrogratto 18 is versatile and neutral so that it can adapt to each of the collections without losing the essence of the brand.

Student-run fundraiser 25tolife is hosting a music and arts festival with all proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society. 25toLife is a joint project between Kamal Masri's SFU Beedie School of Business Project Management class and the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS).

Monday is our motion design day. Why? Well, just because it’s fun to say motion Monday? Honestly there’s no reason but the Aamir Khan totally deserved to be feature and shared here on Abduzeedo. It is a mix of beautiful 3D work with super smooth animations using Cinema 4D, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop. It’s also a personal project of Aamir.

I have been going back through old tutorials to fix some of the images that might be broken or with old formatting. The blog has changed quite a lot since we started 12 years ago. It’s incredible to see how many Photoshop tutorials we’ve written and how some of them stood the test of time.

The amazing people over at Unicorn scooters reached out to us to share a bit more about their vision and of course, their design process. They create a scooter totally focused on the idea of sharing. It’s electric and has a super sleek look. Everything is really well thought out, from the industrial design to the brand identity. We also love to receive this type of message.

I know this might sound crazy and you can unfollow me right now, but, I am not a fan of the Star Wars franchise. I actually enjoyed watching the first trilogy back in the 80s. I have this clear memory of a Sunday afternoon, a rainy day. My parents are sleeping on the sofa and my brother and I are on the floor with blankets watching the rerun on TV.

Pavel Fuksa and Barbora Idesová shared a really cool illustration and motion design post on their Behance page. The idea/inspiration was:  “What happens when you shuffle the letters in the song’s lyrics and create a bunch of eerie and bizarre anagrams?
